A PSE form is also attached for your convenience. document icon Preliminary Site Evaluation For most projects with an existing septic system Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use (Environmental Health Division) reviews proposed projects to determine (1) the operating condition of the existing septic system, (2) the approximate location of the system, and (3) whether the proposed project could have a detrimental effect on the continued operation of the system. A PSE is not required for a shed without a permanent foundation and interior remodels not involving bedrooms.

If a system like that can be installed, an instrument must be recorded by the Waukesha County register of deeds office that describes the system and maintenance requirements.
